High Risk HPV now gone?
Dec 8 2007, 10:23 PM EST For the past 3 1/2 years my paps have come back abnormal, colposcopy results come back for one of more types of High Risk HPV with abnormal changes. I delivered my son vaginally on 5/2/07 - had a pap at my 6 wk check up but there were enough cells to test, so the pap was inconclusive. My new OB just did a pap last week and the results came back fine - no high risk HPV, no need for a colpo, or another re-pap for one year. That is the oddest thing for me to hear, I made him repeat himself 4 times. No pap for another YEAR?! Did you just say that I have no HPV? Are you serious? How many other women have had this happen after a vaginal delivery? Do you find this valuable? |

RE: High Risk HPV now gone?
Feb 12 2008, 3:11 AM EST I got the same surprise many years ago. 25 years ago, diagnosed with same thing, 10 years later - all gone. My doctor told me my body fought the virus off. From what I have read, it can happen. All I can say is Hooray! But if you aren't feeling that sense of peace, run on down to another clinic or planned parenthood and have another test. There is nothing wrong with a second opinion. And in the meantime, read up on HPV and how the body seems to be able to fight off the virus. By the way. I've had the test every 3 years for 20 years and it never reappeared. Gotta love that glorious immune system of ours. Let us know if you decide on 2nd opinion and how that test turns out. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Mar 15 2008, 8:59 AM EDT Just checking up to see if you had the second test and if you wanted to share the results. I have been keeping my fingers crossed for you that you had the same glorious immune system I did. If it isn't too personal, please let me know how it went. Do you find this valuable? |
