...anything from an STD to only a yeast or bacterial infection. An extremely common thing docs DON'T test you for and don't tell you about is HPV, and they don't tell you how important regular pelvic exam and pap smear combos are. If I were you, I'd run to my doctor and ask for a pelvic exam, pap smear, HPV test, and full STD panel. Quite common, but also goes undiscussed by doctors are Pelvic Inflammatory Disease s well as infectious vaginitis (triad of yeast, bacterial vaginosis & trichomoniasis). Docs often find one infection in the triad that they think it is to being with, they treat you for it, then the others worsen. Ask your doc to test for EVERYTHING I list, so you can rule out those it is not (peace of mind) , find out what it is, and get treated ASAP (most are treatable, except HPV, HIV, Herpes & Hepatitis B). You will need to have pelvic exam and pap smear, but also do urine and blood samples to test for the total of these things. I had bacterial and yeast (usually not simultaneous) infections before I'd ever had sex (so don't freak out until you've been tested); they're common and involve a rather common imbalance in the flora of the vagina. If you are under 26 and test negative for HPV, ask for both sets of vaccinations Cervarix AND Gardasil (if you are over 26 and want to pay out of pocket as insurance does not usually cover it, ask for it). Please note each of these vaccinations only covers 2 types of HPV (total of 4), when there are mass more other types, some of which are also risky for cervical cancer. Please note HPV spread is through a skin-to-skin transmission, does not require exchange of bodily fluids, and thus is not as preventable as other STDs (HIV, others) with use of condoms, so the only prevention is abstinence. I only found this out after an abnormal pap & asking my BFF (a nurse), then countless hours of research (in a medical database). I'm waiting for a colposcopy.

But we also do a lot more : we are women's health specialists. We take care of problems related to the female system. We can help with puberty issues (too soon or too late), with contraception, with ovarian problems, uterus problems, with cancer for any age, with getting pregnant (some people have trouble), with following simple and complicated pregnancies and with delivery (by vaginal route or by cesarian section). In general, anything to do with the female reproductive system and normal development.

There is no way for a man to get tested for HPV because they dont habe a Cervix. I had my daughter Feb. 18 2009 and before my paps were normal now I have had Cervical cancer for a year now because of HPV. The virus attacks the Cervix I had to get laser surgey and get the shots which by the way were very expensive but now im doing treatments and am getting better. Oh another thing my Dr. also said that not only do males not have any detection they are the carriers and can carry it for the rest of their life but the treatment for Herp. II the Valtex is also helping for couples that way we the woman dont have the virus over and over again
