hpv

I would like to share my hpv story. A few years back I was in the army national guard. It was about 2001. I had not been to a gynecologist in a long time. Somehow they found out about this and forced me to go.

I , reluctantly , went to a women's clinic and had the test done. A few days later I received a call saying I needed to see another doctor. They did another pap test and took a sample of the tissue. I went through this one last time before they told me I had hpv. The first thought in my mind was "how did I get this?" And wondered what was going to happen to me.

The doctor I was seeing decided to do cryosurgery. It is a relatively painless procedure where they freeze the tissue. It then melts away. Fortunately for me It was the right treatment for me. I have been clean ever since. But I do make it a point to see my doctor every year. That is extremely important.

I have also heard that the being treated for hpv can reduce your chances of getting pregnant. Well I would like to tell you I have the two most beautiful daughters. As a matter of fact I got pregnant with my first daughter only about eight months after my ordeal with hpv. :)
