Pain is a common, and often debilitating, part of endometiosis. Painkillers (analgesics) are usually prescribed as the first-line, and least invasive, form of treatment. Stronger painkillers do not necessarily reflect the extent or invasiveness of disease. Only surgery can properly diagnose and stage the disease.
