I had a fourth degree laceration with my second delivery. It was a forceps delivery. Since then, I have had problems with bladder and bowel control. I was diagnosed with a second degree cystocele and first degree rectocele about a year ago. I haven't had any problems with them until about a month ago. During my last period, I was changing my tampon and noticed a large bulge coming from my vagina. I also had lower back pain and cramping, which has continued since I discovered the bulge (which is my bladder prolapsing). I was wondering how many women have significant discomfort with a second degree cystocele, what is the cause of the discomfort, and why is this considered and elective surgery if one is having discomfort. I have had significant discomfort for the past month and my urogynecologist has dealt with the whole situation very passively. I am very discouraged, have been on pain medication for over a month, and I wonder why I must wait so long to get help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I spent my past weekend at the lake with friends while on my period. I think that the lake water went up the tampon string and into the actual tampon which sat there for 4 hours. Is that even possible? My symptoms are brown chunky discharge, severe itchiness, and bleeding (off my period though)
someone please help! : (
